Where small businesses get hit
Everything covered in the service
Security assessment
A structured review of your network, devices, accounts, email and backups against practical baseline controls — with a prioritised, plain-language findings report.
Firewall & network security
Business-grade firewall configuration, secure remote access / VPN, guest and IoT network separation, and ongoing rule and firmware management.
Endpoint protection (EDR)
Managed detection and response on every workstation and server, with alerts triaged by us rather than ignored.
Email security
Advanced phishing and spam filtering, impersonation protection and SPF/DKIM/DMARC so your domain can't be spoofed. See our Email & Spam Protection service.
MFA & identity
Multi-factor authentication everywhere it matters, conditional access, least-privilege admin accounts and secure password management.
Patch & vulnerability management
Scheduled patching of operating systems and applications, plus scans to catch what's been missed.
Backup & ransomware resilience
Backups that are isolated from the network, tested and able to restore fast. See Backup & Disaster Recovery.
Security awareness training
Short, regular training and simulated phishing so your team becomes a layer of defence instead of the weak point.
Incident response support
If something does get through, you have someone to call who knows your environment and can contain, recover and document it.
Ontario businesses where downtime and data loss are not an option
We work with small and mid-sized organisations across Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto and the GTA, Hamilton, Oakville and Burlington, and Vaughan, Markham and Richmond Hill, with particular experience in these sectors.
Law firms
Client confidentiality, secure document handling and reliable access to practice-management systems.
Medical & dental clinics
PHIPA-aware setups, EMR uptime and locked-down access to patient records.
Accounting & finance
Protecting client financial data, secure remote work during tax season and audit-ready records.
Manufacturing & logistics
Keeping shop-floor systems, scanners and ERP connected without downtime.
Professional services
Consultancies, agencies and engineering firms that need IT to just work.
What makes this different
Right-sized, not enterprise theatre
We implement the controls that actually stop the attacks small businesses face — and skip the ones that only produce reports.
Managed, not just installed
Every control is monitored and maintained. A firewall nobody manages is a false sense of security.
Built for compliance conversations
Documentation you can hand to a cyber-insurance underwriter, an auditor or a client's security questionnaire.
What you can hold us to
These are written into every agreement, not just the website.
Helpdesk hours, Mon–Fri
A real person by phone, email or portal throughout the business day, with critical alerts handled outside those hours.
Response targets
Critical issues acknowledged and worked within one hour; standard requests within four business hours.
After onboarding
No long lock-in. Once onboarding is complete, you stay because the service is good — not because a contract says so.
Cyber-liability coverage
Kyros Networks carries cyber-liability insurance, so the people protecting your business are covered too.
From first call to fully managed
Discovery call
A 30-minute conversation about your business, your current setup and what's frustrating you.
Assessment
We review your network, devices, accounts, backups and security posture and document the gaps.
Proposal
A clear scope, fixed monthly price and rollout plan — no surprises, no jargon.
Onboard & improve
We stabilise first, then work through the improvement plan with you every quarter.
Assessment first, then a fixed monthly plan
Most engagements start with a fixed-price security assessment. From there, ongoing protection is priced per user per month and bundled with our Managed IT plans, or delivered as a standalone security package if you already have IT support. Remediation projects identified by the assessment are quoted separately.
Start with a free IT assessment
A no-cost review of your current setup. You'll get a written summary of gaps, quick wins and a recommended plan — useful whether or not you work with us.

We're small — are we really a target?
Yes. Attacks are automated and go after whoever is easiest. Small businesses are targeted precisely because they usually have fewer protections and no one watching.
Will this satisfy our cyber-insurance requirements?
Most insurers now require MFA, EDR, tested backups and security awareness training. Those are the core of this service, and we provide the documentation to support your application. Kyros Networks carries its own cyber-liability insurance as well.
Does this cover PIPEDA / PHIPA obligations?
Both require reasonable safeguards for personal and health information. We map controls to those expectations and document them — legal interpretation of your specific obligations should come from your counsel.
We already have antivirus and a firewall. Isn't that enough?
Only if they're current, configured correctly and someone is reviewing alerts. Most breaches we see happen with those tools in place but unmanaged.
How long does the assessment take?
Usually one to two weeks from kick-off to findings report, with minimal disruption to your staff.
